Ladies and gentlemen, our loyal and exquisite spectators,
the Jury of the 17 th edition of the International Theatre Festival SLAVIJA 2018, consisting of:
– Božidar Đurović, Director, Serbia – President,
– dr Nina Mazur, Theatre Scholar and Theatre Critic, Germany, Member, and
– Ljubo Božović, Drama Artist, the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Member,

has made a unanimous Decision to give the award for the best production, i.e. the statuette of Don Quixote – the work of the sculptor Nikola-Kolja Milunović – to the ensemble of the New Art Theatre, from Chelyabinsk, Russia, for the performance “The Storm”, by Alexander Ostrovsky, directed by Evgeniy Gelfond.

Explanation:
The melodrama “The Storm”, by the famous playwright Alexander Ostrovskiy, is a multifaceted dramatic score, which has inspired, for a century and a half, the most distinguished Russian and European dramatic and music artists.
In the modern age, the age of semi-truth when, even in the most intimate human relations, very often we cannot tell the truth from a lie, owing to the Director’s reading, excellent performers’ achievements, and all other segments of the performance, this staging confirms the unquestionable scenic communicability, social actuality, and watchability, and the actors and actresses from Russia have easily found that narrow path between the actors and the audience, to our mutual satisfaction.
