The young successful Romanian director Radu-Alexandru Nica from
Sibiu, fascinated by the radical New York humour, combines three
one-act-plays: Sure Thing, Words Words Words and Variations on
the Death of Trotzky to one show as Romanian debut performance.
No moral is enforced on the audience. There is no beginning and no
ending in this performance. One grotesque idea follows the other;
nothing seems to be taken seriously. A dialog a la Woody Allen ripples between the characters. The director and his dynamic and adventurous young actors manage to push the comedy in perspective. The audience obviously indulges in the evening.

The absurd of the language, full of irony with an exact timing of
parody, the absurd humour of the situations and the intertextuality
were grasped and put together into one whole thing. Radu-Alexandru
Nica skillfully combined dramaturgical elements; he fnds distinctive
means of expressions and delivers an aesthetic message supported by his choice of sound, set design and by Casa Gontz’s video projections, which is all in all a pleasure to see and hear. Especially the young team of the German State Theatre Timişoara was a pleasant, yet unexpected surprise.
